On 3–4 November, PNO Innovation will participate in SMAU Milano with its own exhibition stand and three sessions dedicated to key business innovation challenges: research valorisation, sustainability and the application of artificial intelligence.
How can a promising technology be transformed into a concrete business opportunity? What role can sustainability and artificial intelligence play in strengthening business competitiveness?
These are some of the questions we will explore at SMAU Milano 2026, an opportunity to meet companies, innovation managers and stakeholders from the innovation ecosystem, share experiences and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
Over the two days, PNO Innovation will contribute to the programme with three sessions.
3:00 PM – Workshop with Silvia Colella, PNO Digital
An innovative technology does not automatically become a successful product or service. It requires a clear understanding of the market, the right partners, adequate resources and an effective exploitation strategy.
Through five practical questions, the workshop will explore the main challenges of moving from research to market, using GIANCE, a European project focused on developing innovative graphene-based materials and applications, as a real-world example.
The session is designed for businesses and innovators looking to understand how to maximise the value of research results and identify new business opportunities.

10:00 AM–12:00 PM – Roundtable Discussion with Silvia Celani, PNO Innovation
Sustainability is increasingly becoming an integral part of companies’ strategic decisions. However, turning sustainability goals into concrete initiatives requires expertise, investment and collaboration.
Silvia Celani will take part in a roundtable discussion with Sustainability Directors from leading industrial companies, including Enel, Edison, Amplifon, Lavazza and Veolia Italia, to share experiences, priorities and future challenges.
1:00 PM – Live Show with Silvia Celani, PNO Innovation
From task automation to process optimisation, artificial intelligence offers new opportunities to improve organisational efficiency and competitiveness.
The Live Show will provide an opportunity to discuss AI applications in business environments and the role of digital innovation in transforming internal processes.

In addition to the scheduled sessions, PNO Innovation will have its own exhibition stand throughout both days, welcoming companies, partners and innovators interested in discussing emerging technologies, funding opportunities, digital transformation and innovation strategies.
Among the experiences we will share is GIANCE, an example of how European collaboration between research and industry can contribute to the development of innovative solutions with potential applications across different sectors.
