Bring your innovation challenge to the table at Milano Digital Week 2026

What happens when you stop talking about innovation and start working on a real challenge?

On 1 October 2026, PNO Innovation will host an interactive innovation session during Milano Digital Week, bringing together companies, experts and different perspectives to turn real business challenges into clearer innovation pathways.

This is not designed as a traditional conference.

Participants will be invited to bring their own innovation challenges and work on them using data, Innovation Intelligence, strategic innovation methodologies and collaborative discussion.

The objective is simple: better understand the problem, identify opportunities and define concrete next steps.

1 October 2026, 14:30–17:00
PNO Innovation, Piazza Duca d’Aosta 10, Milan

From an innovation challenge to a concrete roadmap

Innovation projects often move too quickly from identifying a problem to proposing a solution.

But before investing time and resources, organisations need to understand the challenge properly: what is already happening in the market, which technologies or approaches are emerging, where the real opportunities are and how the organisation is positioned to act.

During the session, participants will explore how innovation potential can be identified and translated into a structured roadmap.

PNO experts will introduce approaches including Innovation Pulse and Wheesbee, showing how companies can assess innovation maturity, involve people, collect ideas and transform those ideas into new opportunities.

Turning ideas into projects that create value

Identifying opportunities is only the beginning.

The next challenge is moving from an interesting idea to a project that can generate measurable business value.

Andrea Bernardi, Venture Builder at Eniverse, will explore how ideas and insights can become high-potential projects by combining innovation, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, sustainability and new product and process development.

The session will also look at the connection between innovation strategy and growth opportunities.

Funding as an enabler of innovation

A strong innovation roadmap also needs the right resources behind it.

Carla Bertamino, Team Leader Business Development at PNO Innovation Italy, will address how companies can move from an innovation strategy towards a fundable project, identifying suitable opportunities at both national and European level.

The focus will not simply be on finding funding programmes, but on understanding how funding can support the execution of a broader innovation strategy and help build competitive and sustainable projects.

The Innovation Lab: bring your own challenge

The central part of the afternoon will be the Innovation Lab.

Instead of working on hypothetical examples, participants will be invited to put their own challenges on the table.

Together with the speakers and other participants, the group will explore those challenges, identify innovation opportunities and discuss how they could be translated into concrete and potentially fundable projects.

The aim is not to promise a complete solution in a few hours.

It is to leave with a better understanding of the challenge, new perspectives and a clearer idea of what the next step could be.

Who should attend?

The session is particularly relevant for professionals working in:

  • Innovation and R&D
  • Digital transformation
  • Strategy and business development
  • Product and technology development
  • Sustainability
  • Corporate innovation
  • Innovation funding and investment

It is also designed for organisations that already have a challenge or opportunity in mind but are still defining how to structure it, validate it or move it forward.
