AFTER-BIOCHEM

PNO Innovation supported the development of a strong proposal targeting CBE JU funding for AFTER-BIOCHEM. Developing the first all-in-one bio-refinery for the transformation of sugar industry’s co-products as well as other non-food biomass feedstocks into bio-based and natural molecules. Applications will target various markets such as fragrances & flavourings, personal care, food & feed, pharmaceuticals, and industrial chemicals.

Northern Lights Phase 2 expansion – CEF studies + CEF Works

PNO supported the applicant in filing the applications and get grants of CEF studies (2022, €4,2Mln) and CEF works (2023, 131M€). Presented by Northern Lights JV (owned by Equinor, Shell and Total), the project aims to expand from 1,5 to over 5 Mtpa the CO2 storage capacity of the Northern Light Initiative, and includes: a CO2 receiving terminal in Oygaarden, on the Western coast of Norway; a set of offshore facilities (pipeline, umbilical, and underwater structures) to ultimately store the CO2 in the Northern Lights storage site, allowing the potential abatement of up to 5Mtpa CO2, starting as early as 2027.

ANRAV - Heidelberg Materials – Innovation Fund

PNO Innovation guided the full proposal process, securing funding from the Innovation Fund for ANRAV. Developing at full scale the first complete carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) value chain project in Eastern Europe linking CO2 capture facilities with CO2 storage in the Black Sea.
