Last Friday, the European Commission announced the 8 winning projects of the Connecting Europe Facility for Energy (CEF-E) call. PNO supported 2 of the winning projects.
Among them are two strategic projects for CO₂ transport infrastructure that were supported by PNO throughout the entire proposal preparation process:
The Antwerp@C CO₂ Export Hub, submitted by Fluxys, Air Liquide, and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges authority, will receive €144.6 million to develop the necessary infrastructure in the Port of Antwerp. This will enable industrial users in the area to transport, liquefy, and export emitted CO₂ to permanent storage sites.
The Ghent Carbon Hub, also in Belgium, submitted by Fluxys, ArcelorMittal, and the North Sea Port authority, will receive €9.6 million for studies aimed at developing a CO₂ liquefaction terminal in Ghent and CO₂ pipelines connecting it to industrial emitters in the region.
We are very proud to have contributed to the success of these important projects in such a strategic sector for the European Commission.
