PNO contributes to European project BEEYONDERS to transform the construction sector

The European construction industry faces major challenges, from labor shortages and safety concerns to increasing environmental demands. The BEEYONDERS project, funded by the European Union, aims to tackle these issues through a new wave of smart, sustainable, and human-centered technologies. With a strong focus on automation, digitalization, and human-robot collaboration, the project seeks to make construction sites safer, more efficient, and more attractive to future generations.

Kickoff event in Madrid

On October 5–6, 2022, the BEEYONDERS consortium gathered in Madrid for the official kickoff of the four-year project. The event brought together partners from across Europe to align on objectives, share insights, and lay the groundwork for the next phase of collaborative development. The meeting included presentations of planned use cases, discussions on technology integration, and early steps toward implementation.

PNO’s role in exploitation and market strategy

PNO Innovation is responsible for leading the project’s exploitation strategy. Represented by Edgar Valverde, PNO will guide the consortium in defining how the results of the project can be brought to market and sustained beyond the project’s duration. This includes market analysis, business modeling, and identifying pathways for commercial uptake of the developed technologies. PNO brings deep experience in R&D exploitation and innovation strategy across Europe.

Innovative technologies in focus

BEEYONDERS will explore and demonstrate a range of advanced construction technologies. These include autonomous ground and aerial vehicles, smart wearable devices, exoskeletons, and AI-powered digital twin platforms for real-time monitoring and decision-making on job sites. The project’s solutions aim to boost resource efficiency, reduce CO2 emissions, and improve the health and well-being of construction workers.
