Only recently, the Dutch government announced its intention to cooperate with Germany in the development of innovative battery technology. As much as we welcome this collaboration, the publication of the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2023-2024 Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy and Mobility) is at least as newsworthy. Indeed, it contains no fewer than 16 calls related to the BATT4EU Partnership, the European public-private partnership that aims to boost innovation in the battery value chain.
Anyone scanning the work programme for calls that may be of interest to parties engaged in battery innovation may get the impression of reading a description of the complete battery value chain. And in fact, that is exactly what it is. From raw materials to end-of-life and all the steps in between: through the 16 calls, there is a complete demand to help build a strong, self-sufficient and independent battery ecosystem in Europe. To get a good idea of the topics for which Horizon Europe funding will be available, the 16 calls are listed here:
Some of the above calls are currently open and will close in September. For that, as well as for the calls that have yet to open, it is important to take action when interested. The quickest route is by contacting us. We can look for the call that best suits your initiative and inform you about what an optimal application should meet. In addition, we can put you in touch with potential project partners if required. Something that will certainly give your project extra weight at Horizon Europe. Send us a message through the form below or use our contact page.
