Support for Flemish companies wishing to develop new products, processes, or services

This support from Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) for development projects offers valuable financial support for Flemish companies that want to develop new products or technologies, improve processes, build a prototype, or go through a pilot phase.

The basic funding rate covers 25% of eligible project costs. This rate can be increased to a maximum of 60% under specific conditions, such as the involvement of an SME and/or participation in (international) collaboration. Eligible costs include personnel expenses, material costs, subcontracting, and depreciation of R&D infrastructure.

The maximum funding amount is as high as EUR 3 million.

Which topics are eligible?

For this funding scheme, there are no predefined topics (bottom-up approach). This means the development can relate to any field, as long as it is sufficiently innovative within the sector.

  • This type of project often involves certain risks and challenges, which also require the company to build up new knowledge.
  • A solid business case for the innovation to be developed is essential for a successful subsidy application.
