The Just Transition Fund (JTF) aims to mitigate the adverse effects of the transition towards climate neutrality by supporting the most affected regions and workers. It focuses on economic diversification and the reskilling of workers, ensuring no one is left behind in this green transition.

The JTF is part of the Just Transition Mechanism, a comprehensive support system created by the European Union to assist regions most affected by the transition towards a climate-neutral economy. The Just Transition Mechanism consists of three pillars, with the JTF being one of the key components.

Aside from the 17.5 billion euros directly allocated to JTF, the Just Transition Mechanism will mobilize up to 65-75 billion euros to support the transition, including the JTF, InvestEU scheme, and a public sector loan facility with the European Investment Bank.
