Financial support for companies that want to reduce their CO2 emissions or become more energy efficient

GREEN is a subsidy from Flanders Innovation and Entrepreneurship (VLAIO). It offers support to Flemish companies that invest in ecological technologies aimed at

  1. green transition (switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy)
  2. electrification (switching from fossil fuels to electricity), or
  3. energy efficiency (making business processes more energy efficient).

The maximum support amounts to €1 million per company over a three-year period.

The funding rate ranges from 20% to 55%, calculated on the additional cost compared to a standard (non-ecological) investment. Only engineering costs, investment costs, and installation costs are eligible for support.

What themes does GREEN cover?

Switching from fossil fuels to a renewable energy source, such as solar thermal energy (not solar panels), geothermal/ground source, water, biomass, green hydrogen

Switching from fossil fuels to electricity

Reducing energy consumption or making business processes more energy efficient

Which projects are eligible

  • Only investments aimed at green transition, electrification, or energy efficiency are eligible, and the project costs must be at least EUR 50,000.
  • The technology in which the investment is made must not be included in the technology list of the ecology premium+
  • The investments must go beyond the legally imposed standards and may not have already started.
  • Cumulation with other support programs is not possible.
